Warren Shire Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Erica Kearnes as the new Librarian/Regional Manager for the North-Western Library. Ms Kearnes commenced her duties on Monday, 15th July 2024, succeeding Pamela Kelly, who recently retired.

Erica Kearnes brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in local government libraries for over 33 years. Her extensive background includes managing and coordinating library services, organising a variety of community programs, managing budgets, and securing successful grant applications for library development. Erica holds a Master of Information (Librarianship) from Charles Sturt University, further complementing her practical experience.

Erica is known for her strong organisational skills, positive attitude, and community-minded approach. Her ability to multitask and her self-motivation make her an excellent fit for the role. She is excited to join the Warren Shire Council team and looks forward to contributing to the community through innovative and engaging library services.

In welcoming Erica, Warren Shire Council recognises the significant contributions of Pamela Kelly, who has been a dedicated and welcoming presence in the community. Pamela's service is deeply appreciated, and her legacy will continue to inspire.

Erica shared her enthusiasm for her new role, stating, "I am most looking forward to being a part of a new community, not just in Warren but within the North-Western Library team. Working in local government allows me to engage with all members of the community, providing activities and events that are both fun and educational."

She also highlighted her career achievements, including managing a small regional library during the pandemic while completing her Master’s degree. Erica's passion for community service and her ability to adapt and innovate will undoubtedly benefit the Warren Shire community.
