    Employment Conditions

    Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, and Council’s Salary System with a salary range of Operational Band 1, Level 3 that currently ranges between $946.40 and $1097.82 per week depending on competencies, knowledge, qualifications and experience.

  • Vacation Care Co-ordinator and Assistant

    Vacation Care Co-ordinator and Assistant


    Warren Shire Council is looking to fill the following positions Vacation Care Co-ordinator and a Vacation Care Assistant within the Council’s Health and Development Services Division of Warren Shire Council.


    This is covered under a temporary employment contract with Council.  Vacation Care is a childcare service for children which are attending Kindergarten up to 12 years of age.  


    The primary objective of Vacation Care is to provide programs and management of the vacation care service in Warren, which also involves care and supervision of school age children whilst undertaking activities during school holidays.


    Co-ordinator’s Position

    This position requires skills in planning and implementing programs, supervising and participation in all activities and communicating at all service levels with management, staff, children and families.  The position reports directly to Council’s Manager Health and Development Services and will be responsible for routine and specific cleaning of the premises to an acceptable standard and have effective written and oral communication skills.  The co-ordinator is responsible for setting up in the mornings and packing away equipment each evening.


    Hours of work:  8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).  The current salary and conditions for the position will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, of $24.9053 p/h plus 25% casual loading.



    Assistant Position

    This position basically assistants the Co-ordinator with the programs, supervision and participates in all activities.  


    Hours of work:  9.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).  The current salary and conditions for the position will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, of $23.3816 p/h plus 25% casual loading.


    The positions require the applicants to hold a current first aid certificate and be subject to a background check for Working with Children and comply with Council’s Policies.  


    The Co-ordinator would be required to meet the Department of Education and Communities minimum requirements for qualifications experience and management capabilities as set down under the Children (Education and Care Services) National Law (NSW) (National Law) and Regulations.

    The Opportunity
     Working in the Engineering Services Department, the Water & Sewer Team Leader/Plumber will 
    undertake a reactive and proactive maintenance program for the water, sewer and stormwater pumping, storage and reticulation systems across Council owned assets.

     

    About You
     To be successful in this role you will have a 
    current Class MR Drivers Licence, Certificate III in Plumbing (CPC32413/ CPC32412/ CPC32411/ CPC32408/ BCP30103), White Card and Tradesperson Certificate or a combination of base level qualifications, workplace learning or you will possess demonstrated industry knowledge and experience.

    In addition to the above, you will possess high level communication and people skills and have an ability to manage conflicting demands and execute projects within appropriate timeframes.
