    ADMINISTRATION OFFICER ENGINEERING SERVICES

    Parental Leave Temporary Position

    (Minimum Twelve (12) Month Contract)

    Applications are invited and will be received up until 4.00 pm on Thursday, 1st December 2022 for the position of Administrative Officer Engineering Services (Parental Leave Temporary) within the Warren Shire Council. 

    The successful applicant will be employed on a temporary full-time basis for a minimum 12 month contract.

    The position reports directly to Council’s Divisional Manager Engineering Services and is responsible for the administration duties of the Engineering Department which include but is not limited to letter and report typing, maintaining engineering databases, spreadsheets, purchasing, contract administration, analysis of road inventory data and committee minute taking. Experience in any of these functions would be an advantage.

    Applicants for this position will be experienced in general office duties, have excellent customer skills, be competent in the use of window-based computer systems and have a Class C motor vehicle licence. 

    The successful applicant will be subject to a pre-employment medical assessment prior to confirmation of employment.

    Casual Cleaner

    Warren Shire Council has an opportunity for a casual cleaner to join their Health and Development Department.

    In this role you will be responsible for the provision of efficient routine and specific cleaning of Council premises to an acceptable standard. The position requires working outside of normal office hours.

    The position requires the successful applicant to be physically fit, trustworthy and cooperative, must protect confidential information and comply with Councils WH&S Policy and system and ensure that all dealings with internal external customers are undertake fairly and without discrimination.

  • Economic Development and Visitation Manager

    ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND VISITATION MANAGER

     

    The Warren Shire covers an area of 10,860 square kilometres and has a population of approximately 3,000 people.  It is contained within the Orana Region of NSW and is bound by the Shires of Bogan (Nyngan), Brewarrina, Coonamble, Gilgandra, Lachlan, Narromine and Walgett.  Within the Shire is the town of Warren (Administration Centre) on the Macquarie River, population 2,000 and the villages of Collie, population 38 and Nevertire, population 103.

     

    Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead and manage the Economic Development and Visitation Office to successfully deliver Warren Shire Council’s economic development, visitation and tourism, marketing and promotions program together with training of the community for community grants facilitation success.  The position is also responsible for the management and operation of the Warren Shire Visitor Information Centre and associated Volunteers Program.

     

    As a contributing member of Council’s Management Executive (Manex), you will be responsible for the encouragement of economic development and visitation activities to promote tourism, business and employment.  You will work closely in this regard with Council’s Senior Management Team, Economic Development and Promotions Committee and other key stakeholders and groups, both within Warren Shire and regionally.


     
    A Total Salary Package ranging between $97,009 and $112,531 is being offered which includes salary, overtime allowance and superannuation currently at 10.5%.  

     

    Removal expenses in accordance with Council’s Policy will be considered.

     

    Council will consider a Market Force component for an exceptional applicant.

     

    To be successful in this position, you will possess the following skills and/or experience:

    • A Tertiary Qualification in Economic Development, Business Development, Tourism, Marketing, Promotions, Communications or similar degree or extensive industry experience;
    • Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence;
    • Experience in project and program management in the areas of economic development, visitation, tourism, promotions, marketing and volunteer areas;
    • Working knowledge of and experience in the usage of computer systems and software packages;
    • Sound knowledge of financial management and budgeting;
    • Well developed leadership and management skills;
    • Well developed communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem solving skills; 
    • Experience in a local government environment would be advantageous with knowledge of local government legislation, standards and regulations, visitor information centre management and volunteer programs; and
    • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the economic development and visitation area would be advantageous.
