From the Mayor's Desk - December Council News

2022 has proven a remarkable year for the Warren Shire community. We have worked together to overcome several challenges, not least of which has been the ongoing rainfall, flooding and extreme weather events experienced across many parts of north-western NSW.

Despite these hardships, we enjoyed notable achievements including the $5.325M funding announcement for rehabilitation of the Warren Town Levee to help protect us from future flooding events and commissioning of our new $6.15M sewage treatment plant.

We celebrated grants to upgrade the Warren Shire Library and funding to help repair our damaged road network. We completed our Public Art on Private Property mural series and made significant progress on our major infrastructure projects including the Carter Oval Sporting Precinct, Warren Showground/Racecourse upgrade and Warren Airport.

Our community once again proved its resilience and camaraderie, and as we draw nearer to another new year, I would like to wish everyone a safe, happy, and healthy festive season. I look forward to continuing to work together in 2023 with a particular focus on rehabilitating our road network and completing quite a number of our infrastructure projects.

Clr Milton Quigley

MAYOR
