Media Release: Warren’s Flood Study Needs Your Insight - Post Image

Warren Shire Council is reminding residents and business owners to take part in the Warren Flood Study, with several opportunities to share local knowledge over the coming week.

The Community Drop-In Session will be held on Tuesday 21 October, from 10am to 2pm at the Warren Shire Library. The session provides a chance to speak directly with Council and project consultants HydroSpatial Pty Ltd, view maps and share experiences of past flood events.

Warren Shire Mayor Greg Whiteley said this project is built on local insight.

“Your stories, from how water moves around your property to where it pools after heavy rain, help make the Flood Study stronger. Every local detail adds to our understanding of flood risk and helps us plan better for the future.”

Council’s General Manager, Gary Woodman, said the Study, delivered in partnership with HydroSpatial Pty Ltd, combines technical modelling with lived experience to inform future planning, infrastructure and insurance outcomes.

“HydroSpatial staff are out and about visiting residents near the town levees to gather local flood information,” Mr Woodman said.

“If you’re home when they call by, we encourage you to have a chat. Even small details make a difference. For those who can’t attend the drop-in session, the online survey is another easy way to contribute. Every response helps build a clearer picture of flood behaviour across Warren.”
