Media Release: Council installs scoreboard protection shutter at Victoria Oval - Post Image

Warren Shire Council has completed the installation of a new scoreboard protection shutter at Victoria Oval, ensuring the longevity and functionality of this key community asset ahead of the 2025 Rugby Union and Rugby League seasons.

The newly installed roller shutter will safeguard the scoreboard from adverse weather conditions, vandalism, and general wear and tear, reducing maintenance costs and extending its lifespan. This improvement is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to improving public amenities and ensuring that local sporting facilities remain in top condition for future generations.

“We’re proud to have completed this project for the community,” said Warren Sporting and Cultural Centre Manager, Wesley Hamilton. “The new shutter will help protect the scoreboard and ensure it remains operational for years to come. With the 2025 rugby seasons just around the corner, this upgrade reinforces our commitment to supporting grassroots sport and maintaining high-quality facilities in Warren.”

The scoreboard was originally purchased by Council from Southern Cross Scoreboards using grant funding from the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program Phase 4. Its installation, including mounting, concrete works, trenching, and underground electrical works, was made possible through generous support from the Warren Rugby Club and a team of local contractors.

The roller shutter, also funded through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program Phase 4, was supplied by Ultimate Shutter and installed by local contractors Ryan Mason Engineering and All-A-Glow Electrical.
