From the Mayor's Desk: October 2025
10 October 2025

It has been another busy and rewarding month across Warren Shire as we keep working on the projects that make a real difference for our community. Our team is focused on getting things done by improving roads, finishing key infrastructure and keeping our services running strong.
This month, rock armouring along seven levee sites has been completed, with the next stage of levee rehabilitation on hold while river levels remain high. It’s a good reminder of why the Warren Flood Study is so important. Your local knowledge and experience will help us plan for a safer, more resilient future. You can get involved online, at the drop-in session on 21 October, or have a chat with the HydroSpatial team if they visit your property.
We’ve had a few more wins around town too. The new Dog Pound is now open, the EV chargers are ready to plug in and power up and the automatic gates at the Showground are up and running. Plus, the Country Heartline project is well underway, with the second regional resilience workshop coming up soon. If you are a local business owner, don’t miss the free Country Heartline Marketing and Digital Workshop in Warren on 22 October 2025. It’s a great chance to learn something new and connect with others.
It was a real privilege to lead the Tour de OROC peloton into Warren last weekend and to join so many familiar faces at the Charity Night Function supporting Macquarie Home Stay. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again at the Warren Open Garden Day next weekend and celebrating the best of life in Warren Shire.
