As we move into the second quarter of 2025, it’s been encouraging to see several key initiatives gaining momentum across the Warren Shire. From our ongoing roadworks program, which includes the $9 million reconstruction of Marthaguy and Carinda Roads, to the Levee Rehabilitation Project and the construction of the new Dog Pound facility, we're committed to delivering essential infrastructure that keeps our community safe, connected, and well-serviced.
Our team has taken an important step forward in flood management with the approval of the Warren Town Flood Study, an essential piece of work that will assess flood risks and guide future planning to support the long-term security of our community and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, our collaboration with Bogan and Coonamble Shires continues to strengthen, with a $290,000 investment from the NSW and Commonwealth Government’s Drought Resilience Planning Program, will help position our region as a leading nature-based and farmstay tourism destination while boosting local economic resilience.
We’re also looking forward to the return of the Warren Chamber Music Festival in May, a highlight in our cultural calendar that brings people together and showcases the vibrant creativity within our region. This year’s program promises to be a truly memorable experience, featuring a captivating multimedia immersive performance titled Local Heroes at the newly built Warren Art Gallery and Museum, as well as a special performance by the renowned New Zealand String Quartet and a visit from the New Zealand High Commissioner.
With the federal election just a month away, it’s time to turn our attention to national issues that matter most to our Shire—rural infrastructure, telecommunications, and agriculture. Your vote matters. Let’s make sure our regional community’s voice is heard where it counts.
