Celebrating Life in Warren Shire through Art - Post Image

A series of murals celebrating life in the Shire are set to bring colour across Warren, Nevertire and Collie with stunning concept designs now on display for community feedback.

The concepts are designed by Paint The Town Murals and reflect various aspects of the community, creating an eye-catching art trail across Warren Shire for both residents and visitors.

Warren Shire Council General Manager, Gary Woodman, says the murals form part of a wider public arts program to put Warren Shire on the map for celebrating art.

“These designs have been developed from ideas suggested by Warren Shire residents and reflect many different aspects of the Shire.”

“The variety of designs, across such a broad number of locations, will transform assets into artwork and give visitors a chance to see parts of our history and local agriculture designs,” says Mr Woodman.

The recently refurbished Nevertire Water Reservoir will become a 21-metre-high canvas featuring agriculture reflective of the Nevertire region including wheat, wool and cotton.

A number of other key locations across Warren Shire have been selected from community feedback to become part of the mural trail including the Warren Post Office, Old Federal Picture Theatre, Oxley Park, JC’s Café, Bell’s Store, Collie tennis courts and Nevertire Community Park.

“The concepts produced for these locations include a mix of aesthetic designs that give a nod to the locations they represent,” added Mr Woodman.

Both the Nevertire Water Reservoir and the Public Art on Private Property mural projects are funded through the Murray-Darling Basin Economic Development Program Round 3. All concept designs can be viewed at: warren.nsw.gov.au.

Council is inviting feedback on the concept designs for both mural projects and on the locations of the Public Art on Private Property Murals project until 4.00pm, Thursday, 7 April 2022. All residents and stakeholders are invited to submit feedback via:
