MobileMuster is the official program to recycle your old mobile phone/s safely and securely.
MobileMuster accepts all brands of mobile phones, plus their batteries, charges and accessories.
Recycling your old mobile through Warren Shire Council with MobileMuster is easy and free, just:
1. Drop them off at the Warren Shire Council office - 115 Dubbo Street, Warren or
2. Post them in using a free reply-paid recycling satchel available from any Australia Post store or
3. Go to mobilemuster.com.au to find your nearest drop-off points or download a mailing label
All mobiles collected by MobileMuster are dismantled, sorted and separated into circuit boards, batteries, plastics and metals. These are then processed either locally or overseas for resource recovery. All mobiles are recycled in a safe, secure and ethical way. Over 90% of the materials inside your mobile phones will be recovered and used as raw materials for new products. The materials recovered can be used to make everything from plastic fence posts to stainless steel products.
Mobiles should never be thrown out. They are not biodegradable and may contain some potentially environmentally hazardous material.
MobileMuster is a not for profit organisation which has been established and funded by the mobile phone industry to stop old handsets, batteries, chargers and accessories ending up in landfill; to reduce the demand on the planets valuable resources; and to ensure all components are recycled to the highest environmental standards. None of the items collected are sold for reuse. So to find out more detail about what happens to your phones go to www.mobilemuster.com.au.
